can anyone tell me the problem here, had car regassed and it is blowing cold in the front but the rear even when on low is still blowing warm?

If you press the button directing the air on to your feet does it come out cold from the vent behind the handbrake??

are you 100% sure you have dual climate control? you may have the electronic control panel that operates both heaters but unless you actually have dual ac the rear unit will only blow recycled internal ambient temperature air

Yep, its as 3.5bullet says.

 

That confused me for a bit. The fact that the climate control panel "seems" to allow cooling in the rear does not mean that the rear vent can actually deliver cooled air. For me the reat vent is heater only.

 

I think the clue for dual climate (as it tends to be called) is roof vents.

right, these posts have confused me...now im not sure if I have dual climate control or not.

Can someone who has dual climate control on a MK1, please post pictures of the vents which you should have if you have dual air con.

no need to post pictures, it's quite easy to describe, you will have no sun roof, only one opening rear quarter light (drivers side) due to the air duct travelling up the C post on the passenger side and finally two rows of directable vents in the head lineing

So does anyone out there ACTUALLY have dual air con?

I thought I did untill today....my 96 p reg sharan has climate control but only with buttons to change the speed of ONE fan.

I recently bought a 99 t reg gal and it has two controls which change the fan speed of two different fans, one in the back and one in the front.

 

Even the book doesn't mention anything about dual aircon...but it sure does show diagrams for a single fan climate control AND a double fan climate control....

Once again does ANYONE have dual aircon?

One the mk1 i am not shure never seen one,but on the mk2 that i am certain i have the 5 vents on roof (3+2) they control direction and air flow.

i've seen several :20: although mine doesnt have climate control but only the lowly manually operated air con, less to go wrong in theory as it has less electrically operated and controlled parts! after all thats not a bad thing reading the amount of electrical faults that seem to crop up on here :20:

the rear heater unit is a recirc unit only, it does not have access to outside, it would rather dangerous if it did due the auxilalry booster heaters exhaust on the tdi's
